Question

Naina has 15 carrot plants and 11 apple plants that she needs to water every day. If each carrot plant requires 200 ml of water and each apple plant requires 250 ml of water, how much water is needed to water all the plants?
  1. 5.5 litres
  2. 6 litres
  3. 5.8 litres
  4. 5.75 litres

Solution

The correct option is D 5.75 litres
Water required to water carrot plants =15×200=3000 ml
Water required to water apple plants =11×250=2750 ml

Total water required = 3000 + 2750 = 5750 ml  = 5750 ml
(1 l = 1000 ml)
So, Total water required =57501000=5.75 litres
