Question

Name a non-metal which is the conductor of electricity.

Open in App
Solution

Usually, non-metals don't have enough free electrons to conduct electricity. In the non-metals, electrons are held quite tightly with each other. Due to this, they can not move freely and conduct electricity. However, graphite is an exception to this. It is classified as an allotrope of carbon (C).

Thus, Graphite is a non-metal which is the conductor of electricity.
