Achlorophyllous plants:

Some plants lack chlorophyll as they do not synthesize food and depend on other sources to obtain their nourishment. Cuscuta (Amarbel) lacks chlorophyll and is parasitic in nature. It obtains its nourishment from the host plant through the haustoria.
