At first the rich merchant was tried in the king's court since it was his wall that fell on the robber. The merchant accused the bricklayer for not building the wall right. The bricklayer then blamed the dancing girl who was going up and down the road jingling her anklets which distracted him. The dancing girl was then tried who accused the goldsmith for making her walk to his house several times that day. The goldsmith in return held the rich merchant responsible for the incident as he was asked to quickly make jewelry for the merchant’s family.
