Outer planets are farther from the Sun when compared to the inner planets and thus, we can say that the outer planets are colder than the inner planets. The four outer planets—Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.
Jupiter and Saturn are known as the gas giants as they are primarily made of hydrogen and helium. They have thick gaseous outer layers and liquid interiors.
Uranus and Neptune are known as the ice giants as they are primarily made of ice and are very large in size.
All of the outer planets have numerous moons, as well as planetary rings made of dust and other solid particles.
