Solution
A Generator is a device which converts mechanical energy into electrical energy. A.C Generator works on the principle of electromagnetic induction. In generator an induced emf is produced by rotating a coil in a magnetic field. Electromagnetic induction: Electromagnetic induction is the production of an electromotive force across a conductor when it is exposed to a varying magnetic field. It is a process where a conductor placed in a changing magnetic field (or a conductor moving through a stationary magnetic field) causes the production of a voltage across the conductor. This process of electromagnetic induction, in turn, causes an electrical current. The ac generator is used to produce alternating current which has high transmission power and power generation capability.
