Dear student
There are basically five types of antibodies produced in human body- IgG, IgA, IgM, IgE and IgD.
IgG- It is the only antibody that can pass through the placenta barrier. It is produced from the plasma cells. IgG is synthesised after 3 months of a child's birth. It is most abundant in normal human serum.
IgA- It is mainly present in colostrum, tears, sweat and nasal secretions. It cannot pass the placenta, so the new born baby can get it from the mother's milk. As it is present on mucosal surfaces it plays an important role in body's mucosal anti- infective immune response.
