Solution
Growth hormone (GH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) are examples of hormones secreted from the anterior pituitary.
Growth hormone acts in many parts of the body to promote growth in children. In adults, it does not cause growth but it helps to maintain normal body structure and metabolism.
In males, LH stimulates the synthesis and secretion of hormones called androgens from testis. In females, LH induces ovulation of fully mature follicles (Graafian follicles) and maintains the corpus luteum, formed from the remnants of the Graafian follicles after ovulation.
