Natural resources: These are the resources that are available in nature and do not require human manipulation in order to be accessible.

They are classified into the following two types based on their availability:

1. Inexhaustible resources are the resources that are unlimited, and available abundantly. Human consumption does not affect the quantity of these resources. Eg: water and Sun.
2. Exhaustible resources are the resources that are available in limited quantity and take over a million years to form. Hence, once depleted they cannot be replenished. This demands their wise usage. Eg: Fossil fuels and Metal ores.
