Open in App
Solution

Atmosphere:

  • The earth is surrounded by an invisible thick layer of air called the atmosphere.
  • It extends to thousands of kilometers above the surface of the earth.
  • It protects the earth’s surface from harmful radiation from the sun.
  • Without the atmosphere, there could be no life on earth.
  • The atmosphere is mainly composed of five layers: These are troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere, thermosphere, and exosphere.

Troposphere:

  • It is the nearest layer to the earth's surface.
  • In this layer we can see clouds.
  • All the weather changes occur in this layer.

Stratosphere:

  • It is the second layer of the atmosphere.
  • This layer consists of the ozone layer which protects us from harmful ultraviolet rays.

Mesosphere:

  • It is the third layer of the atmosphere.
  • Meters that enter the earth's atmosphere get burned in this layer and are seen as shooting stars.

Thermosphere:

  • It is the fourth layer of the atmosphere.
  • In this layer satellites orbit the earth.

Exosphere:

  • It is the outermost layer of the atmosphere.
  • The temperature of this layer is very low.
