Solution

Renewable source of energy:

A renewable source of energy is one that is being produced continuously in nature and is inexhaustible.

Examples:
1. Solar energy: Heat and light energy from the sun can be used to produce electricity.
2. Wind energy: Wind energy is used to move wind blades and thus produce electricity.
3. Geothermal energy: The energy from the ocean and tides can be used to generate power.
4. Water: Water stored in a dam is used to generate power and use as a renewable source of energy.
5. Biomass: Biomass is a clean, renewable energy source.
6. Biofuels: Major biofuels are biodiesel, ethanol, and methane. These are renewable alternatives to petroleum-based fuels.

Non-renewable source of energy

Non-renewable sources of energy cannot be reproduced, are limited, and will be expired in the years to come.

Examples:
1. Coal: Coal is classified as a nonrenewable energy source because it takes millions of years to form.
2. Oil: Crude oil is a nonrenewable fossil fuel. It is formed when heat and pressure compressed the remains of prehistoric plants, animals, and aquatic life under the earth.
3. Nuclear energy: Nuclear energy is the energy obtained by the nuclear reaction of the heavy atom and it is a nonrenewable source of energy because uranium and similar fuel sources are finite.
