Solution

The correct option is D Ramapithecus
Ramapithecus, an extinct group of primates that lived from about 12 to 14 million years ago, for a time regarded as a possible ancestor of Australopithecus and, therefore, of modern humans.
Fossils of Ramapithecus were discovered in India (Shivalik hills) and in Africa, beginning in 1932.
Although it was generally an apelike creature, Ramapithecus was considered a possible human ancestor on the basis of the reconstructed jaw and dental characteristics of fragmentary fossils. A complete jaw discovered in 1976 was clearly non hominid, however, and Ramapithecus is now regarded by many as a member of Sivapithecus, a genus considered to be an ancestor of the orangutan.
Kenyapithecus wickeri was a fossil ape discovered by Louis Leakey in 1961 at a site called Fort Ternan in Kenya. The upper jaw and teeth were dated to 14 million years ago.
Dryopithecus was a genus of apes that is known from Eastern Africa into Eurasia during the late Miocene period. The first species of Dryopithecus was discovered at the site of Saint-Gaudens, Haute-Garonne, France, in 1856.
Australopithecus is an extinct genus of hominid. From paleontological and archaeological evidence, it appears that the Australopithecus genus evolved in eastern Africa around 4 million years ago.
Therefore, the correct answer is option D.
