Noteworthy compounds of carbon are carbohydrates , proteins , fats .These are all organic compounds. It is also present in allotropes of carbon (diamond , graphite and buckminsterfullerene) . Ethanoic acid (CH₃COOH ) and ethanol (C₂H₅OH) are also important compounds of carbon.
