Question

Name the acceleration produced in a body falling freely in a vacuum.

Open in App
Solution

  1. In a vacuum, all freely falling bodies have the same acceleration i.e. acceleration due to gravity.
  2. In the case when the body falls through the earth's atmosphere there is not the same acceleration because the force of buoyancy has an influence over light objects, reducing their acceleration.

Hence, the acceleration produced in a body falling freely in a vacuum is uniform acceleration.
