Solution
The correct option is C Hookworm, Ancyclostoma
Ancylostoma duodenale is a nematode worm. It is commonly known as the hookworm of the human intestine. They cause parasitic infections in humans and other mammals. Hookworm infection starts when the worm in the larval stage penetrates the skin and migrates during its life cycle through the liver and the lungs. This larva is known as filariform larva. They get attached to the intestine where they reproduce to form eggs which are ultimately released in the faeces. Embryonated egg present in the soil hatch into rhabditiform and mature into filariform larvae. It starts a new reproductive cycle. The lifecycle represented in the diagram above belongs to the hookworm. Thus, the correct answer is option C.
