Ringworm is a fungal infection and some of the genera that cause this infection are Trichophyton, Microsporum, and Epidermophyton. The symptoms include a red, itchy rash, anywhere on the body. If it affects the face or scalp the rash is ring-shaped. They could be rashes at multiple places on the body.
