  2. Example: cell membrane, mitochondria etc.

Cell Membrane:

  1. Cell membrane or Plasma membrane regulates the entry of cell solutes and ions in the cell.
  2. It also maintains the shape of the cell.
  3. It lies next to the cell wall in plant cells, however, it is the outermost covering in animal cells (as they lack cell wall).
  4. It is a selectively permeable membrane composed of lipoproteins.
