Blood:

  1. It is red colour liquid which flows through out the body in the blood vessels.
  2. It consists of plasma and blood cells.

Types of blood cells:

  1. There are 3 types of blood cells : red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets.
  2. Red blood cells (erythrocytes) carry oxygen to all cells in the body.
  3. White blood cells (leukocytes) are an important part of the defence mechanism.
  4. Platelets (thrombocytes) help in clotting of the blood in case of injuries.
