  1. These are commonly called fishes and are exclusively aquatic animals.
  2. They have a streamlined body. Fins and a muscular tail are responsible for locomotion.
  3. Their skin is covered with scales.
  4. They are cold blooded animals which means that their body temperature can change with the change in the outside temperature.
  5. They obtain the oxygen dissolved in the water through gills.
  6. They lay eggs and fertilization is external.
  7. Example - Dog fish (Scoliodon), Electric ray (Torpedo).
