Natural gas reserves are found near other solid and liquid hydrocarbons such as coal and crude oil, deep inside the earth.

Biogas: Biogas is a mixture of methane and carbon dioxide produced by the bacterial decomposition of organic wastes and used as a fuel.

As a result, methane is found in natural gas as well as in biogas.
