Dear student

Glucose a form of carbohydrate is oxidised to produce ATP i.e. Adenosine triphosphate molecule which is regarded as energy currency of the cell.
This occurs during Respiration.
C6H12O6 (glucose) + 6O2 (oxygen) --> 6CO2 (carbon dioxide) + 6H2O (water) + 32 ATP (energy)
