Solution

Bile components:

  1. The liver produces and secretes a fluid called bile, which is then kept in the gallbladder for later use. Digestion is aided by bile.
  2. It transforms lipids into fatty acids that the digestive system can absorb and use as fuel. The main component of bile is cholesterol.
  3. Bile is made up of pigments, bilirubin, and biliverdin, which are formed when dead and worn-out red blood cells are broken down.
  4. Bile contains bile salts, bile acids, cholesterol, phospholipids, bile pigments, electrolytes, and water.
  5. The active concentration of bile salts in the bile canaliculi drives bile production, which is an osmotic secretory process.
  6. It breaks down lipids into fatty acids, which the digestive tract may absorb into the body.
