We use alternating current(AC) at our home. We obtained direct current (DC) from the solar panel.

Alternating current	Direct current
In alternating current (AC), the current changes its direction of flow periodically.	In Direct Current (DC), the current flows in the same direction.
AC comes from most of the power supply stations.	DC current comes from dry cells, batteries etc.
