Night blindness:

  1. The disease is caused by a deficiency of vitamin A.
  2. This vitamin is required by the rod cells of the retina for enabling us to see in the dark and is thus necessary for our night vision.
  3. Hence the rod cells of a deficient person are affected resulting in blurry vision at night and in the dark.
