Solution

Oogenesis is the process of development and maturation of an ovum. This process begins while the female is an embryo herself. During the embryonic growth, the ova undergoes mitosis to become a primordial follicle that is arrested at prophase I. On reaching puberty one of these ova gets releases as a primary follicle from the ovary each month. It can either get fertilized or get degraded and come out as menses.
The ovum released from the ovaries as primary follicles are collected by the fimbriae of the infundibulum of the fallopian tube. It is formed as a result of oogenesis in the oogonia. The primary oocyte is basically the oocyte arrested at the stage of the first meiotic division.
