Solution

Blood vessels

Blood vessels are tube-like structures present throughout the body, which, along with the heart, make up the body's circulatory system. Their primary function is to transport blood throughout the body.

Types of blood vessels

Blood vessels are mainly of three types:

  • Arteries: These blood vessels carry blood away from the heart to different body parts or tissues. Most arteries carry oxygenated blood.
  • Veins: These blood vessels carry blood from various body parts to the heart. Most veins carry deoxygenated blood.
  • Capillaries: These are the smallest blood vessels that form an extensive network through branching.
