Solution

We know, Atomic number = Number of Total Protons = Number of Total Electrons in neutral atom

Hence, Sum of electrons from all the shells will give the Atomic number of that element

  1. Atomic number = 2 + 6
    Atomic number = 8.
Atomic number of Oxygen is 8
Thus, 2,6 Represents the Configuration of Oxygen
  2. Atomic number = 2 + 7
    Atomic number = 9
.Atomic number of Fluorine is 9.
Thus, 2,7 Represents the Configuration of Fluorine.
  3. Atomic number = 2 + 8 + 1
    Atomic number = 11
.Atomic number of Sodium is 11
Thus, 2,8,1 Represents the Configuration of Sodium.
  4. Atomic number = 2 + 8 + 7
    Atomic number = 17
.Atomic number of Chlorine is 17
Thus, 2,8,7 Represents the Configuration of Chlorine.
  5. Atomic number = 2 + 8
    Atomic number = 10
.Atomic number of Neon is 10
Thus, 2,8 Represents the Configuration of Neon
  6. Atomic number = 2 + 4
    Atomic number = 6
.Atomic number of Carbon is 6
Thus, 2,4 Represents the Configuration of Carbon..
