Solution

Endocrine glands associated with the brain:

  1. The hypophysis, or pituitary gland, is a pea-sized endocrine gland located at the base of our brain.
  2. Because it generates some of the body's most vital hormones, it's known as the 'Master Gland.'
  3. It is located in the pituitary fossa, a bony structure directly below the hypothalamus and near the optic nerve.
  4. The anterior pituitary gland and the posterior pituitary gland are the two components of the pituitary gland.
  5. Growth hormone (GH), prolactin (PRL), thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH), are all produced by the anterior pituitary.
  6. Melanocyte-stimulating hormone (MSH) is produced by the intermediate or middle lobe of the pituitary.
  7. Anti-diuretic hormone (ADH) and oxytocin are produced by the posterior pituitary.
