Peroxisomes are found in all eukaryotic cells and contain oxidative enzymes, such as catalase and oxidase. Oxidase helps in oxidation of certain molecules found in the cell such as fatty acids and amino acids. Catalase, on the other hand, decomposes hydrogen peroxide either by converting it to water or by using it to oxidize another organic compound.
