Solution

Excretion in plants:

Plants do not have an excretory system like animals, but they also remove their toxic substance or waste material from their body. The excretory material of the plant depends on the type of waste and condition.

Excretory Wastes of Plants:

  1. Carbon dioxide in cellular respiration and oxygen in photosynthesis, both are gaseous wastes and removed by gaseous exchange, however, these are useful in other processes.
  2. Dead cells or tissues are also waste materials and stored in the vacuole of the plant cells that are shed from the plant body by yellow leaves.
  3. Water is essential for plants, but an excess amount of water is also removed from the plant bodies by transpiration.
  4. Resin and gums are excretory wastes called Metabolic Waste and are removed from the plant body.
