Inertia of a body (matter) is the property by virtue of which it remains in its current state and resists any change in its state, it depends on the mass.
Inertia is directly proportional to the mass of the body i.e. more the mass of the body more will be its inertia.
Therefore it is more difficult to move a body from rest or to stop the motion of a moving body of larger mass than that of smaller mass.
