Question

Name the factor on which the momentum of a body depends.

Open in App
Solution

Momentum:

  1. The product of the mass of a body and its velocity is called linear momentum. It is denoted by p.
  2. Mathematically we can write,

p=m×v

Here, m is the mass of the object and v is the velocity.

3. The momentum of the body depends on the velocity and mass of the object. As velocity increases, momentum is also increased in the same direction as the velocity.
