The finger like structure that helps cuscuta to take food and nutrition from host plant is called HAUSTORIA.
After a cuscuta attaches itself to a plant, it wraps itself around it. If the host contains food beneficial to it, the cuscuta produces haustoria that insert themselves into the vascular system of the host. The original root of the cuscuta in the soil then dies. The cuscuta can grow and attach itself to multiple plants.
