a) Spongocoel:

  1. This is not a true cavity (coelom) and is lined by choanocytes.
  2. A spongocoel can be defined as the large, central cavity of sponges
  3. Water enters the spongocoel through hundreds of tiny pores called ostia and exits through the larger opening (osculum).

b) Coelenteron:

  1. They have a single opening called a mouth.
  2. It is the gastro-vascular cavity present in cnidaria.
