Solution

(a) The three hormones produced by the pancreas are Insulin, glucagon, somatostatin

Insulin and glucagon hormones secrete from the pancreas, in which alpha cells of the pancreas make and release glucagon, and beta cells of the pancreas make and release insulin. These hormones contribute to blood sugar regulation. Glucagon increases blood sugar levels, whereas insulin decreases blood sugar levels.

Somatostatin inhibits the release of growth hormones from the pituitary.

(b) The hormone produced by the adrenal medulla Adrenaline

The function of the Adrenal:

  • The flight or fight response is triggered by the release of stress hormones from the adrenal glands.
  • This increases the flow of blood to muscles.
  • Blood sugar levels increase.
  • Increases RBC count by spleen contraction.
  • Rise in heart rate.
  • The function of gastrointestinal.

(c) The condition caused by the oversecretion of insulin Hypoglycemia

Hypoglycemia commonly causes brain fuel deprivation, resulting in functional brain failure, which can be corrected by raising plasma glucose concentrations.

(d)
The hormone secreted by β (beta) cells of the islets of Langerhans Insulin

Insulin and glucagon hormones secrete from the pancreas, in which alpha cells of the pancreas make and release glucagon, and beta cells of the pancreas make and release insulin. These hormones contribute to blood sugar regulation. Glucagon increases blood sugar levels, whereas insulin decreases blood sugar levels.

(e)
The hormone which increases blood pressure Adrenaline

The function of Adrenaline:

  • The flight or fight response is triggered by the release of stress hormones from the adrenal glands.
  • This increases the flow of blood to muscles.
  • Blood sugar levels increase.
  • Increases RBC count by spleen contraction.
  • Rise in heart rate.
  • The function of gastrointestinal.

(f) The hormone causing more urine formation Anti-diuretic hormone (Vasopressin)

Antidiuretic hormone (ADH) helps regulate the amount of water in your body. It works to control the amount of water your kidneys reabsorb as they filter out waste from your blood.

(g)
The hormone which stimulates the entire sympathetic nervous system Adrenaline

The function of Adrenaline:

  • The flight or fight response is triggered by the release of stress hormones from the adrenal glands.
  • This increases the flow of blood to muscles.
  • Blood sugar levels increase.
  • Increases RBC count by spleen contraction.
  • Rise in heart rate.
  • The function of gastrointestinal.
