Dear student
a. Neurospora belongs to class Ascomycetes, kingdom Fungi. It is used extensively in biochemical and genetic work.
b. Red tide is caused by Alage Karenia brevis (algal bloom) and Dinoflagellates. The algal blooms decrease the oxygen content of the water and can kill large numbers of fish and other sea life creatures.
c. Euglenoids (Euglena) are unicellular flagellate protists. They are without the cell wall. The body is covered by thin and flexible pellicle which is a protein-rich layer. The pellicle has oblique but parallel stripes called myonemes which make their body flexible.
d. Paramoecium have a cavity (gullet) that opens to the outside of the cell surface.
