i) A polar covalent compound formed from an element in period 1 and an element having electronic configuration 2, 7
ii) A non polar covalent compound formed from an element in period 1 and a non metallic element in group 14.
iii) The number of election shells in elements of period 3.

1. Hydrogen is the element in period 1 and element with electronic configuration 2.7 is F and so the polar covalent compound is HF
​2. The compound formed between hydrogen and carbon (non-metallic element in group 14) is methane, CH4
​3. Number of electron shells equals the period number and so it is 3.
