Accidental leakages of radioactive materials.
• The use of nuclear energy has two serious problems - accidental leakage, as occurred in the Three Mile Island and Chernobyl incidents and the second is safe disposal of radioactive wastes.
• The Chernobyl accident in 1986 was the result of a flawed reactor design that was operated with inadequately trained personnel.
• Three Mile Island nuclear power plant accident in 1979 was the result of a cooling malfunction which caused part of the core to melt in the #2 reactor.
