When water enters the cell by endosmosis, the cell becomes distended or bulged, then this condition is called turgidity.

Turgid cell:

The cell in such a stage is called turgid cell.

  1. Two types of pressures are exerted by turgor cell.
  2. They are turgor pressure and wall pressure.

Turgor pressure

The pressure generated by the protoplasm against the cell wall in the cell is called turgor pressure.

Therefore, pressure exerted by the protoplasm against the cell wall in the cell is called turgor pressure.
