  2. But, sometimes two babies are also born. Such babies are called twins.

Fraternal or dizygotic twins.

  1. The kind of twins formed from two different fertilized eggs is called non-identical or fraternal or dizygotic twins.
  2. Sometimes, two eggs one from each ovary may be released simultaneously. Both may be fertilized by different sperms.
  3. Dizygotic twins are genetically different because each receives genes from a different egg and sperm. They may be of the same or different sexes.
