  1. Plants require gases like carbon dioxide and oxygen for their life processes.
  2. The lenticels are minute openings in the bark of branches and twigs.
  3. They help in the gaseous exchange apart from stomata in the leaves gaps are formed in woody stems during development.
  4. Evaporation of water from the lenticels of the plants is known as lenticular transpiration.
  5. Lenticels are not present in all the plants. A minimal amount of water is lost through lenticels.
