Question

name the forces acting on a plastic bucket containing water held above ground level in your handand . discuss why the forces acting on the bucket do not bring a change in its state of motion

Open in App
Solution

Dear student,
The forces acting on the plastic bucket are muscular force and gravitational force.

The forces do not bring any change in the state of motion of the bucket because the forces are equal in magnitude but acting in opposite directions. So, the net force on the bucket becomes zero. The effect of the gravitational force will pull it down only if the muscular force gets weaker than the gravitational force when we feel tired.
