Endometrium is the inner wall of the uterus. it undergoes various cyclic changes during menstrual cycle. It first thickens for implantation of embryo, but if fertilization does not take place, if sheds off, leading to fall of menstrual blood. If the fertilization takes place, then it implants the zygote and nourishes it.
