Solution

Reaction of dilute hydrochloric acid with sodium hydrogen carbonate will result in the evolution of CO2 gas.
The reaction is as follow:
NaHCO3(s)+HCl(aq)NaCl(aq)+H2O(l)+CO2(g)

When the produced gas is passed through lime water, lime water turns milky which confirms that the evolved gas is carbon dixoide.

Ca(OH)2(aq)+CO2(g)CaCO3(s)+H2O(l)
