(i) Alkalis reacts with ammonium salts on heating to liberate ammonia gas.
Ca(OH)2+2NH4ClCaCl2+2NH3+H2O
(ii) When sodium nitrite reats with ammonium chloride nitrogen gas is liberated.
NaNO2+NH4ClNaCl+N2+2H2O
