Progesterone is responsible for the changes in secondary sex organs in human female to prepare them for the anticipated pregnancy. It is secreted from corpus luteum until it degenerates and the placenta is formed. In the later phase of pregnancy, the placenta secretes progesterone to maintain pregnancy.
Fallopian tubes, uterus, cervix and vagina. Progesterone promotes secretory activities of fallopian tube and uterus. It helps in preparing them for pregnancy.
