It secretes the following two hormones.
  • Thyroxine; regulates basic metabolism
  • Calcitoxin; stimulates deposition of calcium in the bones
(ii) Pancreas:
It secretes the following three hormones.
  • Glucagon; increases blood glucose level
  • Insulin; decreases blood glucose level
  • Somatostatin; inhibits secretion of insulin and glucagon
(iii) Adrenal medulla:
It secretes the following two hormones.
  • Adrenaline; regulates rapid physiological responses in emergencies
  • Noradrenaline; regulates blood pressure under normal conditions
