Question

Name the hormone responsible for the descent of testes into the scrotum? Why does a failure of the testes to result in sterility?

Open in App
Solution

Follicular Stimulating Hormone and testosterone are responsible for descend of testis in the scrotum. Anti Mullerin Hormone also plays an important role in this. If testes do not descend in the scrotum, then sperms will not be produced as sperms are produced in scrotum at a temperature 1-3 degrees lees than the normal body temperature. So, it will lead to male sterility.
