Question

Name the hormone that regulates the storage of glucose as glycogen

Open in App
Solution

Insulin is an anti glycemic hormone i.e. it decreases the blood glucose level. There are several ways by which it works to decrease blood glucose level. One of these is a conversation of glucose to glycogen, known as glycogenesis. Glycogenesis takes place when blood glucose levels are sufficiently high to allow excess glucose to be stored in liver and muscle cells.
