Exophthalmic goitre:

  1. Exophthalmic goitre is a form of hyperthyroidism.
  2. Symptoms include fast heartbeat, rapid breathing as well as protrusion of the eyes, and swelling of the neck.
  3. The thyroid gland becomes overactive and secretes an excessive amount of thyroid hormones in this state.

Thyroxine hormone:

  1. Thyroxine hormone is secreted by the thyroid gland under the regulation of the pituitary gland and the hypothalamus.
  2. Over secretion of thyroxin leads to Exophthalmic goitre.
